Welcome

The Busselton Healthy Ageing Study (BHAS) aims to collect important information about common diseases associated with ageing in adults.

The BHAS follows on from the long-running and world-renowned Busselton Health Study initiated by the late Dr Kevin Cullen, which has been conducted since 1966. The BHAS will collect detailed health, social, lifestyle and environmental information from a select sample of Busselton adults aged 45 to 64 (“Baby Boomers”). The information collected will help us understand the health of men and women and track their health and lifestyle throughout the ageing process.

Data collection for the BHAS will start in Busselton in February 2010, and we will invite 2,400 adult participants born between 1946 and 1964.  The BHAS  will operate from the Busselton Health Study testing centre located within the South West Area Health Services Building at 18 West St, Busselton.
